Methi Bajra vada / thepli / Fritters

During winter months, there is a significant increase in our appetite so that our food preparations also change.
In my region, we use lots of fresh methi and green garlic in our daily meal or snacks during winters ❄️

This Gujarati snack is smaller, bitesize and fried version of Methi Thepla we call it Debra / Vada / Thepli.

Traditionally these thepli are made from pearl millet flour (bajra), Fenugreek leaves☘️ and some basic spices.Bajra is a warming food, so good when the climate is cold. My version is multigrain, so along with bajra, I added juvar, maize ? flour and whole-wheat flour also. Lots of green garlic added to it enhances taste and flavour. Sesame seeds give crunch in every bite.
Sometimes curd is also added to the recipe, which gives these theplies a good soft texture.
These crispy and delicious fritters recipe is a perfect evening snack in this chilling weather and served with green chutney and masala chai ☕

  1. So well served. I use the same technique ??. When some of traditional food is not accepted by kids, I serve them in a diff way, and chaat is what every one likes, so various Chutneys make it more palatable for them and for me, just chai is enough for this Bajri vada. Looking so tempting???
