Stuffed Pointed Gourd / Parval na Ravaiya
This traditionally gujarati dish is very tasty and excellent everyday meal.
In Gujarati any vegetable that is stuffed and cooked is called Ravaiya. The stuffing or masala mainly consists of crushed peanuts, besan, dry/fresh coconut, fresh coriander, sesame seeds and some traditional spices.
This masala is a quite versatile and used in other stuffed vegetables dishes like Ringan na Ravaiya, Bhinda na Ravaiya, Marcha na Ravaiya, Karela na Ravaiya and so much more.
Stuffed Parvals are tempered in a teaspoon of oil and asafoetida, adding little water, covering a lid and cooked on low flame until the masala and parval cooked well. Sometimes potato wedges can also be added.
